The Department of Critical Care at KHIMS Hospitals is a state of the art 10 bed referral ICU. The unit has been designed and laid out to match international standards in structure and function. It meets the norms laid out by national and international societies of Intensive Care. The unit is located in such a way that natural lighting is amply available to the critically ill patient.

The Critical Care Unit is equipped with the best possible infra-structure and equipment to deliver intensive care of the highest quality. It is one of the few units to be equipped with lifesaving support systems like ECMO and CRRT from inception. Separate areas for infectious diseases have been created in the unit.

A unique feature of the unit is a separate suite for relatives to be available at the bed side of a dear one, when end of life is inevitable. The unit is supported by a comprehensive “dream” lab service with unmatched turnaround times. The blood bank facilities at the Institute are unique in their sophistication and capability.
